Bringing Big Moments to Phoenix Kids Through Community Partnership
Students at Children First Leadership Academy in Phoenix were given an experience few kids get: a chance to play, learn and connect with Arizona Cardinals players and Phoenix Police officers during a special event hosted on campus.
From friendly football drills and games to the excitement of winning autographed memorabilia, the day delivered moments the students will remember long after the last high-five. Officers and players teamed up to guide activities, answer questions and spend meaningful time with the kids, creating an environment full of energy, encouragement and genuine connection. Lunch was provided by Chick-fil-A, adding to a festive atmosphere across the school grounds.
Phoenix Police’s Central City Precinct Community Action Team helped coordinate the event, which brought together community partners to create a positive experience for the rising generation.
“A lot of kids were like, ‘Hey, I've never gotten to play football before. I've never seen a player and never talked to a police officer.’ So bringing it all together and giving this amazing kids this experience had everyone in smiles,” said Phoenix Police Seargent Lawrence Rosky.
Organizers said the goal was simple: give students a memorable day while strengthening community trust, building lasting connections, sparking inspiration and showing young people that their community is invested in them.
The Phoenix Police Department is committed to supporting programs and partnerships that help uplift youth and create meaningful connections with the community they serve.
