New Way, Same Day
For the past 20 years, residents have established a routine for their trash and recycling collection. Beginning July 9, residents will only need to remember to place their trash and recycling containers out for collection on the same day, instead of two. Although it’s more convenient for residents, we know that change isn’t easy and we’re doing our best to make it as seamless as possible. Read more about the benefits to our customers.
Switching to same-day collection will save $1.3 million annually and $6.5 million over a five-year period. The Public Works Department has implemented efficiencies to keep your solid waste fee stabilized over the three past years with no solid waste fee increase. It is continued innovations like same-day collection that will minimize the need for future solid waste fee increases.
