An all-new episode of the Emmy Award-nominated “Building Phoenix” television show airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, on PHX11 and on-demand at phoenix.gov/11. The program airs through July.
This episode highlights the expansion of the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA, featuring a six pack of puppies and other homeless pets; the transformation of a 1950s ranch house using the new Phoenix Green Construction Code; the grand opening of Hotel Palomar at CityScape, including a look back at the five-year construction process; a look ahead at the next big project from the team behind Postino Wine Café and Winsor/Churn – the adaptive reuse of bank buiding designed by legendary Phoenix architect Al Beadle into a restaurant concept; plus, how Phoenix is leading a development revolution with the Self-Certification Program for architects and engineers.
The “Building Phoenix” show premiered in 2006 on PHX11 and is produced by city staff from the Public Information Office, Planning and Development Department and PHX11.
