Suspect sought in connection with shooting

Suspect in shooting case Shortly before noon on January 27, 2010, Phoenix Police Officers responded to a shooting at 1601 E. Highland.  When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times.  She was lying outside her car, which was stopped in the courtyard area in front of the office to the complex.  She was transported to a local hospital, where she is in critical condition.

The actual sequence of events leading up to the shooting and what transpired are still being investigated.  At this point, detectives believe the woman was shot by her former boyfriend, 32 year-old Victor Sweeney.  Sweeney is 6’2” and is approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green vest with black long sleeves underneath, and fled from the scene in his car, a 1999 tan 4-door Lexus with a license plate AHY2561. He is being sought for questioning in connection with this crime.
