  Project Tomorrow: If you were President, how would you improve schools in the United States? President-elect Obama and the new Congress want to hear your thoughts. By participating in the new Mini-Speak Up survey, students around the country have the chance to share their ideas with policymakers. Speak Up is a national survey conducted annually by Project Tomorrow which asks an open-ended question online for all students through January 20th, Inauguration Day.

Access to Education Scholarships: USA Funds will be offering $1,500 scholarships to college students for the 2009-2010 academic year. Applications are being accepted online at usafunds.org between December 15, 2008 and February 16, 2009. Only full-time and half-time undergraduate as well as full-time graduate and professional students are eligible. More information is available at usafunds.org.

The Dorrance Family Scholarship Program: The Dorrance Family and the Arizona Community Foundation are offering support ot Arizona's first generation college students. Twenty-five scholarships are awared annually for incoming students to Arizona's three public universities for an amount up to $9,000, and the reward is renewable for up to 8 semesters. Applications are due by February 25, 2009.

Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge: Do you want to become an agent of change? An eco hero? The Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge is an invitation for middle school students to do just that. With the help of an adult mentor, groups of two to three students can identify an environmental issue in their community, research it, develop a plan, collect data, analyze that data, and share the results they've found so far. Prizes will be awarded to chosen winners. Applications are due by March 15th, 2009.

The Nina Mason Pulliam Legacy Scholarship: This outstanding scholarship is an opportunity for foster youth, adults with dependents, or physically disabled students to attend college with full financial support. Tuition, books, a living allowance, and ongoing academic support are included. The deadline for applications is April 1st, 2009. For more information and to apply online, please visit their website.
