Go Green: Through March 15, 2009 midle school students can "go green" and team up for the Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge, the first and only national K-12 sustainability education initiative aligned to education standards. The challenge is web-based and provides a robust collection of resources for students and teachers from interactive labs to lesson plans. The competition is open to all students in grades 6 - 8 and students and teachers can win cash and an appearance on the Discovery's Planet Green Television Network. Childsplay Spring Classes and Workshops: Childsplay spring sessions are now available for registration where children from 18 months to 18 years can learn from professional thespians. Both classes and workshops are being offered for two spring break sessions to accomodate valley school district schedules at the new Childsplay campus. Internet Safety: The Attorney General’s Office Internet Safety School Tour teaches students, parents and educators about ways to keep kids safe online. Presentation topics include precautions young people should take with social networking Web sites, such as myspaceand facebook, cyberbullying and protecting your identity online. Attorney General’s Office staff members are available to schedule an Internet safety presentation at your school or community group throughout the year. Water Issues for Teachers: Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) classes are Arizona specific and correlated to state standards in all curricular areas, including science, language arts, math and social studies. Teachers of all grade levels are welcome to attend the workshops, which can go toward advanced training credits in most school districts.
