Crime Statistics

This application will allow you to access crime statistics for various areas within the city of Phoenix. Please read the disclaimers below before viewing the crime statistics.

Disclaimers: "The following represents statistics by geographic area for reported crimes, traffic crashes and calls for service as compiled by the Phoenix Police Department, Planning and Research Bureau.

The Phoenix Police Department is not responsible for misinterpretation of this information and makes no inference or judgment as to the relative safety of any particular area or neighborhood.

Please note that the council district boundaries changed effective January 1, 2003 and the police precinct and beat boundaries changed effective September 1, 2003. Therefore, comparisons between the different time periods need to be made with caution as some of the boundaries are now significantly different. Updated querying capabilities and maps have been added to the site to address these changes.

The statistics represent a snapshot of the number of incidents as recorded at the end of each month. The numbers do not reflect changes to individual cases if the changes were made after the end of the reporting period. The original data source is dynamic and is therefore constantly changing, so totals may differ from other reports generated by the department.

The following information provides crime statistics on reported incidents based on Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) definitions and cannot be compared to Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) or National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data. In addition, information on the total number of traffic crashes, calls for service, domestic violence and gang related incidents, by area, is provided."

Statistics for Sexual Assaults between January 1, 2006 and September 30, 2006 were updated as of November 21, 2006.

Questions regarding the data can be directed to the Planning and Research Bureau, Crime Analysis and Research Unit, at (602) 262-6543 or caru@phoenix.gov.
